We intended to invite Bribie Beach to join our special Valentine's Day love affair. But that sure backfired on us. We travelled just under 3 hours to have the sky turn black and the windows of the bus be flooded by a highly aggressive and disappointing downfall, just as we were nearing our desired beachland.
Boo.
(yes, I do resemble a wet dog..which conveniently ties into my next story)
Fast forward to this morning. I was upstairs in the house making Mitch's lunch when I realize I left the sliding glass door open on the porch. As well as the gate leading outside to the yard/street. Bad, bad, bad Stephanie. This leaves room for a perfect escape for their little epileptic dog, Elsie.
In my panic, I searched the house and yard calling for her. No luck. Maybe she was being walked? Or maybe the kids brought her into their room to sleep with them?
After I sent Mitch off to school, the most horrifying rainfall ever took place.
I was peeking outside, taking pictures, when I saw a drenched, terrified Elsie scurrying across the yard in the downpour. Oh, NO. I dropped the camera and cautiously scampered off into the storm to begin the chase. She ran chaotically and I nearly couldn't see her with the heaviness of the rain.
In the end, a soaking wet dog found her way back inside and I finally got to make use of those sweaters and scarves I foolishly brought from home.
Oh, Sigh.
(Insert loving comment about dogs here)
