Oh hello!
You are still following me?
True dedication.
I suppose we are finally, finally settled. Here. Home?
We moved about 3 weeks ago. Our lease at our tiny little home finally came to an end (much to our relief). It was cute and perfect for the first year, but we outgrew it.
I loved it because the location was perfect. Close to the city, and even closer to the job that I've come to love.
It threw Mitch and I into a position of patience and extreme closeness.
But the close quarters were trying during the school year when Mitch needed quiet and space to study (all the time) and I just wanted to play and make noise (all the time). You see the dilemma.
Our situation is perfect now. Perfect for now anyway.
As most of you knew we had been planning on moving into the house of a couple from Mitch's college.
That didn't work out (for a few reasons which ended up being for the best) and rather we moved to the best suburb ever (Paddington), which is trendy and located even closer to the city then Toowong was.
We are living with Stefan and Joel (a wonderful friend we met at church; follow this link to see what a stud he is).
Our place is a townhouse. Incredibly modern, large open spaces, fresh, white, clean. I loved it from the first moment I stepped in the door. I knew I had to have it.
It's fair to say that we are living in a resort.
The boys have their own beautiful bathroom and bedrooms at the end of one hallway. Mitch and I have our own enormous bedroom, with ensuite and the most breathtaking closet you can ever imagine.
Bliss.
I hope you can come see it in the next couple of years.
On the subject, it has been the greatest blessing to have Stefan and now Amy out here with us.
I can't imagine many things better than sharing the places and country you've chosen to love with the ones you had to leave behind to discover it.
Thank God for opportunities to travel. To visit. To stay connected. To build relationships that will last the trials of distance and lag between communications.
The greatest anticipation of all is Mom and Pops visiting from March 13-March 21st!
They'll spend 4 days with us in Brisbane. We'll show them the local places we spend our time at and take them to Byron Bay (the most beautiful beach of them all). And then Mitch and I will fly with them to Cairns. For an even more 'tropical' vacation than the one we are currently on! I can't wait!
In very few circumstances I love when time flies.
This is one of those few times. 2 weeks!
Mitch began his internship at the Church. And my goodness has he been thriving. He is working with Pastor Andrew mostly in the Young Adults area. The greatest joy for me has seen how the young adults have gathered to him. They feel safe with him. Excited to see him in leadership. Ready to get more involved than before. The feedback on Mitch's new presence in the Church has been overwhelmingly fantastic.
It reminds me of when he first caught my eye...
He is so anointed when He leads people into God's presence. When He is sharing the gospel (in whatever light) with others. He's so confident and well spoken. It's so clear that he is called to shepherd.
I am grateful to have married such a gifted man of God!
As for me, I have decided to co-lead a girl's homegroup with a good friend also named Steffany!
Many of you know that that has been a desire of my heart for years. I have a heart for women. Specifically unmarried women. I'm anticipating a wonderful year with the girls in our group.
I also happen to adore and admire Steffany a lot.
Seems like a recipe for success :)
Pray for me in that area.
In summary, Mitch and I have found a home at Nexus and we thank God for bringing us to a church we can feel safe and loved in after so many months of searching.
I will wrap this up.
It's never much fun to read a massive unload of facts like this. No stories or pictures...but give me a little time to warm up to the blogging world again and I promise to entertain further in the near future.
Until then, know that we're happy, healthy and sweaty.
Please do send updates in return. They warm our hearts.
With so much love.
Sooo happy to see this update!!!
